What is a plot with shift or displacement.

In some platforms we can shift the plot of indicators. It's also defined as displacement in some platforms such as Ninjatrader.
The pic below is a swing point indicator without shift, it shows when the swing point is actually detected. We used 12 for the swing length input, it means the swing high should be higher than the highs on its left and right side by 12 bars. So the swing high point is detected 12 bars after the swing high bar.
If we shift the plot to the left side to fill up the red box area, the dots will plot from the swing high, but it doesn't mean that the swing point is detected from there. When we shift a plot, the shifted parts (red box area) has no actual value, we cannot use shift parts (red box area) to do any calculation. The shift is only used for demostration purpose only.
